Last weekend, our Glasgow North West team raised a total of £2,000 for Team Carr Gomm after clocking up 150 miles between them by walking, cycling and running round the beautiful island of Great Cumbrae.
The team of eight set out early in the morning to tackle the 10.5 mile circuit round the island. Two members completed four laps each, seven members completed one lap each with the rest of the miles being made up by people cycling part of the way to and from Glasgow.
Murdo MacLean, support practitioner, Glasgow North West service, said: “We had a total blast on Saturday, made even better by the fact we smashed our 150 mile target. The fundraising has been amazing. We’re so grateful for all the generous contributions we’ve received, it’ll make a huge difference to our projects and activities that work so hard to stomp out loneliness.”
